About Me
Hi, I am zhijie, based in Shanghai. Welcome to my personal website.
I like building products, thinking about interaction design, and exploring AI.
I have made many products. Some were ambitious attempts to build something big enough to change the world (those plans failed), and some were simply small experiments.
I used to be a product manager who did not code, but I always wanted to create products on my own.
After ChatGPT came out, I started building projects by myself with AI support. I made websites, apps, and Chrome extensions, and also picked up different programming languages and frameworks.
In the last six months, I have gone back to mostly not writing code. Most of my work is vibe coding now, with only occasional manual edits.
For AI, I care about both macro and micro perspectives. I read Asimov’s imagination of robots, and I have also done fine-tuning experiments on models.
I try to examine questions from multiple angles and explore different possibilities so I can build a more complete understanding.
There are many valid perspectives on almost everything, and I can never access all of them. That leads me to a “Less sure about everything” attitude.
About This Website
Over the past three years, I built a set of products, some AI-related and some not.
During that time, I was either building products or preparing to build them, but I rarely paused to look back at what I had actually made.
Recently, I have been thinking about what to do next, so I used that moment to build this personal website. One goal is to organize and reflect on my work. Another is to introduce myself and see what collaboration opportunities might emerge.
I wanted a simple but slightly playful way to present my projects, so I chose an operating-system-like interaction model, where each product maps naturally to a desktop app.
The site itself was built fully with vibe coding. The current visual style was selected after trying many AI-generated directions.
I used to build websites with Next.js and deploy on Vercel. But because Vercel’s free traffic quota was too small and paid usage was relatively expensive, I switched this site to Astro and plan to deploy it on Cloudflare.
